It has been a busy year for me ever since I decided to join the Web Analytics team here in USAP. As it's a fairly new industry, as my boss said, "Web Analytics is where SEO (Search Engine Optimization) was five years ago," we're constantly on a learning process. We continue to strive to learn new things so that we may be identified as an integral and indispensable part of the company, not to be looked down but be sought to for help. Actionable analysis and recommendations are our ultimate goal and I admit we still haven't reached that phase, but we're surely getting there. Reporting may be what we do best right now, yes, but that is the first step to take - report figures and data with accuracy - and then report data with accuracy coupled with an actionable analysis or two.
We're in our growing pains, Web Analytics here in the Philippines is as well. We may not be experts on this matter right now but let us share what we know to aspiring Web Analysts here in the country. In the months that we've been doing this, we've discovered a lot about this blossoming field which have sparked our interest more, and these things we want to share. With this little initiative, we hope to aid those seeking answers to questions and issues bothering Web Analysts in the Philippines. But the first step you have to take is to decide - decide to uncover yourself from the shadows of being called reporting analysts. If you yourself know that what you're getting your hands dirty with is web data, then shout loud and proud that you're a Web Analyst! Have the guts to come out of the closet, it is only by doing this that we can influence the growth of Web Analytics. Let us change the way people see Web Analysts, let them know that our voice matters. As Remy of Ratatouille said, "Change is nature. The part where we can influence. And it starts when we decide." So let's decide to make ourselves worthy of their respect by doing what we should do with our best and with utmost passion.
So, go on, spread the word that Web Analytics has arrived in the Philippines and six women are pioneering its growth! And do call us the Web Analytics Angels, please (Haha! Kidding!)

I love you Harry....

Hi Harry,
It's already been 2 days since you've left us and I hate you for doing that! Why did you give in? You know very well that losing you would make us feel terribly sad and still you chose to leave. You know we love you very much and that you mean the world to us so why give up at the last minute? You even gave us hope that you'll soon come back healthy as just the other day, you seemed to be yourself again and then the next day, you just gave up. You've crippled us, Harry. You are a part of our family and now with you gone, nothing would ever be the same again. =(
I never thought we'd lose you, honestly. I've always thought that you'll be with us for a long time and maybe that's exactly the reason why I sometimes took your existence for granted. I'm very sorry, Harry. Truly, I am. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to see and feel that you're already suffering inside. Had I known that, I would've given you more attention and cared for you more and maybe, you'd still be with us right now. Maybe right now, I wouldn't be just reminiscing the times I played with you while I'm writing this post but instead, I'd be playing with you for real. It would be just like the old times, me calling you and you not responding to my call (hehe), me squeezing your chubby cheeks while you just sit like nothing's happening. Oh, how I wish I was doing that now!

You left so suddenly that you made moving on terribly difficult. But despite that, you've left us with only good memories to cherish. It hurts to think of those happy moments now but hopefully, someday, we'll be able to accept the fact that you're in a much happier place now, watching over us like you've always done and just being adorably cute. And when that day comes, these memories will not bring us tears anymore but paint a smile on our faces.
Harry, thank you for loving us as much as we loved and continue to love you. We will miss you. =(
